Arkitektura Assembly is pleased to invite you to an evening with some of the Bay Area’s most influential designers and design thinkers sharing their candid thoughts and reflections on how they learnt to see for themselves. Rob Forbes, David Kelley, Johanna Grawunder and Eric Heiman will discuss how they see the world, inspired by Rob Forbes’ new book See For Yourself. This will be the launch of the book and Rob will be there to sign your copy.

The publication of See For Yourself coincides with this year’s San Francisco Design Week. We’re proud to be part of this week long look at design through this dynamic event.

See For Yourself is a meditation on design in the everyday, an accrual of Forbes’ travels and insight into how design and beauty inhabit our world. At its essence, the book reveals how Forbes sees the world and through his unique perspective, it offers us all a chance to reflect on what and how we see. To expand the conversation, Arkitektura is gathering key design minds from the Bay Area to riff on their way of seeing. We imagine through a discussion, each will be inspired by the other and surprising discoveries will be made, both by us in the audience and by the speakers themselves.

Rob Forbes is the founder of Design Within Reach and, more recently, Public Bikes. David Kelley is the founder of IDEO, a Professor at Stanford and also founder of the “D-School”. Eric Heiman is the designer of See For Yourself and Johanna Grawunder is a designer and architect based here and in Milan.

We welcome the design community of San Francisco to join us for an evening of illuminating insight and conversation. Please come and see for yourself.
