2015 was a year full of beautiful insights from the brilliant designers we had as guests on Design in Mind.

For our first podcast of 2016, we are looking back on the words and reflections of those designers and picking out the best bits. This is no small feat! It was incredibly difficult to narrow down but thankfully you can go back and hear the full interview should you be intrigued to hear more.

In this podcast, industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa speaks about his need to create a sanctuary in nature with his very own hands, Sam Hecht shares how he uses his morning bike rides to solve design problems he can’t seem to otherwise, graphic designer Erik Spiekermann tells us what he feels makes for the perfect day, furniture maker Martino Gamper reflects on mass production, Ayse Birsel explains how your entire life can be designed, Mario Bellini demonstrates how it all started and John Maeda shares how practicing meditation as a youth prevents him from getting angry, even in the toughest of circumstances.
