Mario Bellini brought a full house to Arkitektura Assembly to hear the maestro discuss his work and way of seeing the world. When asked about his thoughts on the modernist dictum ‘form follows function’ he laughed and called the phrase stupid and began to philosophize on the importance of art, public for Mario Bellini design is about beauty.
Renowned across the disciplines of architecture, industrial design and furniture design, Maestro Mario Bellini joined Arkitektura and what seemed like most of the San Francisco design community for an evening trying to fully appreciate the breadth and quality of work that one person can produce, and he’s not finished yet.
