In 2019, Glas Italia, in partnership with designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, won the EDIDA furniture award for their Rayures modular screen design. At the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2023, the design community came together once more to bestow this very special award upon Glas Italia and another highly respected designer for their collaborative work. Not only are these iconic pieces of design history beautiful, but they are available to bring into your own home, as well.
Simoon by Patricia Urquiola wins prestigious 2023 EDIDA Award
If you’re new to the world of design, to receive an Elle Deco International Design Award (EDIDA) in any of the 15 design categories is a true honor. The Simoon Table is the winner of the 2023 EDIDA Products Awards Furniture category, and the result of a collaboration between designer, Patricia Urquiola and Glas Italia.
Simoon’s unique, multi-level aesthetic is credited to an experimental process that incorporates recycled glass from production waste into the finished design. The visually irregular surface begs to be touched – inviting you to experience the textural contrast of materials. The intentional use of clean, architectural lines brings refined elegance to this sophisticated design.
